Historical Background
In 2002, when Fredis Person and her husband came back from
In response to the above situation, they resolve to advocate for resources to establish a centre that provides medical and psycho-social rehabilitation services to formerly abducted children, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable children like street kids, abused children, victims of torture etc. In their endeavor, Fredis person and her Husband landed on two Norwegian donors in the names of Ole .G. Steine and Trond Mohan who eventually funded the establishment of the today’s “FREDIS REHABILITATION AND DISABLE CENTRE” (FRDC). This centre was officially open by the president of the

To ensure that all children with disabilities and other vulnerable children in Northern Uganda are fully integrated and reintegrated in communities through rehabilitation, education and physical support
Overall Goal
Thematic areas
Medical rehabilitation. Under this there are; physiotherapy, corrective surgery and general basic medical care for the beneficiaries.
Psycho-social support/rehabilitation. This entails the following; counseling and guidance, life skills mentoring, tracing and reunification of children with their families, provision of catch-up classes.
Education. Advocate for fair treatment of pupils with disabilities at schools, look for sponsors for the extremely vulnerable children from impoverished families, build positive attitude about education among school dropouts and encourage them to go back to school with some small beginning packages. FRDC also provide catch-up classes at the centre where children are taught science, Social studies, Mathematics and English.

- Physiotherapy room with adequate space and up-to-date equipments
- Medical clinic/Dispensary

- Class rooms Block
- Two big Blocks that serve as dormitories, one for boys and one for girls
- There is enough space for children’s recreational activities and for further extension.
- The centre has got one vehicle
- The centre has got utilities like electricity, water and internet
Staff
As of this February 2009 FRDC has got a total number of 15 staffs (9 males & 6 females) both technical and support staffs.
